LCD stands for “Liquid Crystal Display” and is a flat screen that uses the light modulating features of the liquid crystal. The lifespan of an LCD is predicted to be around 60,000 hours of use. On the other hand, an LED (Light Emitting Diode)TV uses light-emitting diodes as backlighting and is estimated to last for up to 100,000 hours.
Picture Quality
Let’s be honest. One of the most important factors in purchasing a new TV is how good the screen and image quality is. Whilst both come in lots of different sizes, an LED can go up to 90”. They also offer fantastic back displays and have higher color accuracy. LCD screens are more likely to reflect more. For the gamers out there, LEDs have a higher quality video playback and a sharper display. However, ghost images are less likely with an LCD.
What is Better LCD or LED?
All in all, whilst both have their advantages, we would have to say that an LED definitely has more advanced technology and a much better picture quality. However, they are more expensive. Although the underdog, LCD TVs are still popular, due to being a good value at generally a much lower price. Cheap TVs specialize in the provision of high-quality television sets at competitive prices. They pride themselves on having a fantastic selection of the best TVs on the market.
